IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sally M.
Jepson
February 1, 1943 – February 27, 2026
Sally M. Jepson, age 83, of Manawa, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, February 27, 2026 while holding her husband Charlie's hand. He was the love of her life. She was born on February 1, 1943, daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Fenske) Kottke, on a snowy day in her grandmother's house in Manawa.
While attending Little Wolf High School, she was the Drum Majorette and led the high school band through Manawa's first rodeo parade. Her proudest moments were leading the band through the streets of New York City and Madison Square Garden. Clarence Sturm was nominated to be president of the Lions Club International, and the band was there to support his nomination. Following her graduation from high school, she worked at Aid Association for Lutheran's, now Thrivent. Sally met Charles "Chuck" Jepson in 1960, and they married in 1966 having the largest wedding at Bear Lake Resort. Chuck owned Lloyd's Tavern in Manawa at the time and hung a sign on the door to come out to Bear Lake for a drink at the wedding reception. They started their family in 1967 and were blessed with two daughters.
Sally worked side by side with Chuck as his secretary when he started Quality Concrete and Excavating in the back of the tavern. She was excellent with clerical work being able to type 400 words a minute. Chuck was known to hire a few men that frequented the tavern. Chuck and Sally traveled and enjoyed their time together, also taking their children on many vacations. Sally kept a tidy house with beautiful landscaping and gardening. She was also a great cook and decorator. She enjoyed their winter home at their condo in Naples, Florida. She was restricted to travel to Florida after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.
Her family would like to thank the nurses at the House of Dove, located in Marshfield. They were very supportive and kept mom comfortable as she lost her battle with cancer. She fought multiple myeloma for four years. After Michele died, it broke mom's heart and accelerated her death. We would also like to thank Keri and Gary Jepson for their homemade chicken potpies, and a big thank you to Lois Hertzfeldt for sending greeting cards as she received them daily.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie; daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Popke; grandchildren: Sophie (Brady) Huettner, Seth Forbes, Emily (William) Throndson, Olivia Egan; siblings: Tom (Pat) Kottke, Robert Kottke; son-in-law, Tom Egan; close family friends: Stan Forbes, Van Johnson, and Beth Hutchinson - thank you all for helping take care of mom and dad. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Michele "Mick" Egan.
A Celebration of Life for Sally will be held at a later date.
