Scott D. Stevens

November 20, 1956 — November 17, 2023

Scott Douglas Stevens was born November 20, 1956, and died November 17, 2023, unexpectedly in his home. Scott grew up on the family farm in Ogdensburg, WI and always said he had a great childhood. He graduated from Manawa High School, Class of 1975. He was active in FFA and enjoyed shop and metals classes. His nickname "Chopper" came from his love of motorcycles and the chopper bicycles his dad would weld for him. During his time in High School, Scott made some lifelong friends that carried though adulthood. Post-graduation, he worked at Mill Craft, then as a postal delivery sub, and eventually started his own business, Scott's Drywall Service. His talents for woodworking, building and finishing, showed in the home he built with land from his childhood farm. His creations are on display in the homes of many of his family and friends.

Scott was united in marriage to Rebecca "Becky" Algiers on November 14, 1987, and she preceded him in death on October 8, 2013, after 26 years of marriage. Scott then met his soul mate Jennifer Johnson, and they lived and loved together for the last 9 years.

Scott's favorite hobbies included hunting and fishing - especially his yearly fishing trips to Canada with his dad, brother, brother-in-law, and good friends. Scott was an active Member of the Manawa Fish and Game Club and served as president and treasurer during his time there. He spent many Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons shooting a few rounds then enjoying a Blatz while sitting on his favorite stool at the end of the bar. The friends he made there held a special place in his heart. His 1970 Boss 302 Mustang will always be his "baby" and is immortalized on his headstone. Scott enjoyed spending time in his shop and working on many projects leaving behind more than a few unfinished.

Scott is survived by Jennifer Johnson; siblings: Jeff (Ann) Stevens, Julie (Bob) Anderson; stepdaughter: Amber Towery; nieces and nephews: Fawn (Kory) Klemm, Hanna Stevens, Olivia Stevens, Sarah (Dylan) Buboltz, Michael Anderson, Steven Anderson; Jennifer's children: Andy (Alyssa) Fisher, Matthew (Jesicalyn) Johnson, and Josh (Shawna) Johnson; grandchildren: Skielyn, Braxton, Laynie, Natalie, Leigh, Trent, Gabe and Addie.

Preceding him in death are his parents Roger and Carol Stevens, and wife Becky Stevens.

The family wishes to thank the Ogdensburg First Responders and the Iola and Waupaca EMS. We appreciate all your efforts, we know you all did your best.
