Virginia C.
Schulz
Jul 5, 1933 — Oct 8, 2026
Virginia "Ginger" Carol (Smith) Schulz was born July 5, 1933, in Curtiss, Wisconsin, and died October 8, 2026. Her parents were William Herbert Smith and Gertude Marian (Keskimaki) Smith. She is predeceased by her husband Donald "Doc" Schulz, siblings Jean (Byron) Brown, Lloyd "Snuffy" Smith and Kenneth (Betty) Smith and son-in-law Gary LeMoine. Ginger is survived by her children Mark Schulz (Lynette) of Eau Claire, WI, Robin LeMoine of Rhinelander, WI, Keva Schulz (Lynne) of Apple Valley, MN, and Scott Schulz (Pamela) of Parker, CO, 11 grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Ginger graduated from Owen High School. She earned a degree from National Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee, WI before working in the Miller Brewing business office. Ginger married Doc Schulz in 1956, and they moved to US Army bases in San Francisco, CA, San Antonio, TX, Ft. Knox, KY, and Valley Forge, PA, as Doc finished medical internships and residencies. In 1962, Ginger and Doc settled in Shawano, WI, where they raised their family. Following Doc's retirement, they moved to rural Manawa, WI. Ginger moved to Rhinelander in 2018.
Ginger was a faithful and loving wife and mother. She volunteered extensively at St. James Lutheran Church and School in Shawano. She loved her family dearly and kept in frequent contact with them in visits and phone calls. She was an avid sports fan, particularly cheering on the Wisconsin Badger basketball team, the Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Brewers. She also loved her high school classmates from Owen and was so grateful for the phone calls and great conversations she had with them in her later years. Ginger's feistiness and quick wit brought joy to all of our lives. Most of all, Ginger loved Jesus and supported her church and other organizations dedicated to spreading the message of the Gospel. She's with her Lord and Savior now, enjoying eternal life in Heaven.
Ginger's life will be celebrated in a private family ceremony. Her interment is at Ogdensburg Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Camp Luther, 1889 Koubenic Rd., Three Lakes, WI, 54562, Peace Church, 501 E. Fillmore Ave., Eau Claire, WI, 54701, or Unity Hospice, 2366 Oak Ridge Circle, DePere, WI, 54115. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff and 9th floor staff at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay and Unity Hospice, as well as to all of the staff at Aspirus medical facilities who were part of her care team in Rhinelander.
