Wallace Baehman

October 25, 1913 — February 4, 2006

Age 92, died Saturday February 4, 2006 at the Franciscan Care & Rehabilitation Center in Appleton. He was born on October 25, 1913 in Dale, son of the late Arthur & Esther (Toepke) Kaufman. On June 8, 1946 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Kirk in Appleton. She preceded him in death in 1983. On June 16, 1984 he married Ruth Ann Lunneberg. She preceded him in death in 2003. Wally graduated from Hortonville High School in 1931. He owned and operated Wally's Club 10 in Dale from 1940 – 1995. He was a lifetime member of Zion United Church of Christ in Dale. He was a former member and treasurer of the Dale Volunteer Fire Dept., the Dale Commercial Club, and the Outagamie County Tavern League. He loved baseball, history, animals (special cats Eb & Grandma Cat), jokes, stories, poems, and most of all talking to everyone. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Kaufman, Dale. A son, William (Judy) Kaufman, Wautoma. A sister, Helen (Ray) Baerwald, Dale. A sister-in-law, Luella Kirk – Appleton. A brother-in-law, Harold (Mary) Kirk – Appleton. Also numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wives, Wally was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Kaufman and Marie (Henry) Neuman, and a brother Carl Kaufman. The Funeral Service for Wally will be held at 11:00a.m. Wednesday February 8, 2006 at the Zion United Church of Christ in Dale with the Rev. Jan Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery in Dale. Friends may call at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00p.m., and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00a.m. until the time of service. A Memorial Fund has been established for the Zion United Church of Christ. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Franciscan Care Center for the wonderful care they gave Wally the past three years and also to his roommate Fr. Joe for his companionship and prayers.
