Age 58, of Weyauwega, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 10, 2007. He was born on February 20, 1949 in New London, son of Harold & Beatrice (Ticks) Buchholtz. On February 19, 1977, he married Mary Colson in Milwaukee. Wayne attended Weyauwega-Fremont High School. He then farmed with his parents and brothers on the family farm in the Town of Weyauwega until 1980. He was employed by Churny Cheese for the past 27 years. Wayne was a volunteer firefighter for Weyauwega-Fire Department for 39 years, retiring just this year. He was a member of the White Lake Conservation Club. He loved fishing, farming, traveling, and working with Jimmy at Dairyland Chopping. He was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Wayne is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary; his children: Kristine Buchholtz, and special friend Bryan, Stevens Point; Richard Buchholtz, Appleton; his parents: Harold & Beatrice (Ticks) Buchholtz, New London; his brothers: Bruce (Nancy) Buchholtz, Weyauwega; Dale "Tiger" Buchholtz and his fiancée Debby, Waupaca; Brian "Cubby" (Betty) Buchholtz, Weyauwega. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. The Christian Funeral for Wayne will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Dennis Lemke and Rev. Robbin Robbert officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends may call at St. Peter Lutheran Church ( 312 W. Main St.) in Weyauwega from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. A special thank-you to the EMT,s and Paramedics, and also the E.R. staff at Riverside Medical Center for their care and concern of Wayne.
